Three Important People

There are a lot of important people in my life, but the top three would have to be my mom, my best friend’s mom, and my little brother. They’ve all been there for me in their own way. I appreciate them for each thing they’ve done and how they’ve been there for me.

To begin with, my mom with her loud high pitched voice, and her soft light skin with nails always painted, and with her hair always in a cute messy bun. She has always been the one who has stayed by my side through all the chaos I’ve caused and all the drama I bring. I know if I were to ever get myself in a sticky situation I could count on her to be there for me. I appreciate her for always telling me when I am right and when I am wrong.

Another important person to me is my best friend’s mom. Her long black hair lies down her back, and she’s addicted to wearing slippers. She’s the one I always go to for advice or just have a problem. I know whatever my problem is she will not judge me for it and will not laugh at it. She’s always there to listen and I’m always there to listen to her. I know it sounds weird that I’m actually close to my friend’s mom but through the years I needed someone older to talk to that couldn’t always be my mom. And she was able to fill that role, I appericate her for always listening and never downplaying my problems even if they were silly and just high school drama.

Lastly, my little brother has a big importance in my life. Even with his iPad permanently attached to his hand, and always sitting there like he knows no one person in the world. He’s super shy and doesn’t like talking to new people. It’s so strange because I’m the complete opposite. I’m loud and dramatic and I sometimes try to break him out of his shell. Sometimes I feel like I embarrass him because he is such a reserved person and I’m over there dancing in the grocery store. Even with being so different my brother’s opinion is really important to me and I never want him to think badly of me.

My recommendation –

I would have to recommend the satin snob lipstick from MAC. The main reasons would have to be durability, the spring color, and that it makes any outfit pop. It is for sure one of my top favorites right now from MAC’s lipstick line.

The fact that my lipstick can stay on for hours is always major plus for me, since once I put it on I totally forget to reapply it. I’ve tested out other cheaper brands of lipstick and I have yet to come across one that beats my satin snob. I can understand when people say that MAC lipstick makes their lips dry and crack, but the trick is to first apply chap stick then lipstick so it’s less likely to dry out your lips. After using lipstick it’s hard not getting addicted to all the different colors.

Another big plus for satin snob is that is a great color for spring; it’s one of those pinks that just bring more color to your skin and makeup. I think it’s always fun to change your makeup with the seasons, for example fall it’s more of that smoky eye shadow with nude lip and springs more of that drip of bronzer and pink lipstick, and summers definitely almost no makeup because it just smears down your face when you jump in the pool.

Lastly, I love satin snob because it really does add that touch to every outfit. It could put that skip in your step if your outfits a little dull. I’m not trying to sound like a makeup junkie cake face girl, but I really do recommend this lipstick because it really is that perfect shade of light pink. It took me awhile to find but once I did I fell in love.

this semester

My truth was #2 I have five piercings.  Since that blog entry it’s actually turned to six piercings.

My Semester
This semester was definitely easier than last semester, but I guess since I’m not really feeling challenged so I’m getting lazy. The course that took a toll on me last semester was anatomy with Mrs. Urich. It was my fist science college class and I felt like everyone already knew everything since they were all older than me. Everyone in the class had either already been working in the medical field or already had taken previous anatomy classes, so I was always struggling to keep up with them. I guess it motivated me more to prove that I could be on the same level as them. I honestly cried from all the studying I had to do, it would be three hours off bones, muscles, and systems. I had to study for so many hours before a test and it seemed like everyone else just glanced at the book and got 110% while I settled for my 84%. I guess the class taught me better study habits and to not compare your knowledge to others.
This semester I have English, math, and medical terminology. English class is pretty it is what is it, the work is given with solid directions and you just have to get it done. I had Ms. Crocker last semester and liked her teaching methods so I stayed with her. Math will forever be a hassle with me; I just get lost so easily and I really need to make myself pay attention sometimes. I don’t know math and I never got along. Medical terminology is probably the simplest class I’ve ever had. Since I studied so hard in anatomy I know all the medical roots already and it’s pretty basic for me. Although this semester is easier I’m somehow getting the same grades. I think I need to quit slacking.

Family
My family used to be closer than it is now. I think everyone kind of drifted over time. My cousins and I truly grew up together; we all got babysat together we all played together. We were each other’s only friends. We all grew up to have very different personalities, but still remain close.

As far back as I can remember I was always outside with my cousins Jasmine, Brandi, and Andrea. Even though we’re all different ages; we never really noticed, now Jasmine 20, Brandi 19, me also 19, Andrea 17. We played hide and seek until we got in trouble for being outside so late. Two of my cousins lived on the same street so we were constantly going back and forth from houses. We were always together doing girly things. Every day was a picnic outside with our dolls, and every night was a Disney movie sleepover. We had no worries. Every holiday, birthday, and family get together we were all together.

Now we’re all pretty far in distance. Brandi lives in New Mexico, Jasmine and Andrea live in Arizona, and I’m still here. As we grew, so did our personalities and styles. We still remain close even through the hundreds of miles. We usually visit each other over summer. We tend to all meet up in Arizona for three weeks. In those short three weeks it feels like nothing’s changed between us. We go out late and go eat, we go to the movies, we shop, and go swimming. It’s really nice. Even though we’re so different from each other we never let that get in the way. Jasmine’s more into working and money, Brandi’s into taking charge and volley ball, Andrea loves soccer and still in high school, while I’m just over here trying to get into the radiology program at Moorpark. I guess I appreciate my time with my cousins more since I really don’t have them like I used to.

I honestly am really happy with my family even though I probably don’t show it all the time. They’re the only ones who can cheer me up or just make me smile. I love that I can still be close to my cousins even with being so far away from them. I think along with being cousins we’ll always be friends as well.

Class Interview

The first person I got to interview in class was Julio. He was interesting and was not shy to give honest answers; I enjoyed interviewing him. I found out he is very encouraged to do well in school and achieve all his dreams. Julio revolves his life around soccer, school, and his family. Currently soccer is taking up most of his time; he’s working towards a professional contract. With two practices a day, three times a week he understands how committed he must be. Even though he must drive from Palmdale each day Julio still finds a way to be on time. With also worrying about school because he is the first one in his immediate family to go to college. He’s working on getting his BA in sociology. His family encouraged him to be successful and not just some common worker. Julio knows it’s important to be a role model for his six younger siblings. He spends most of his time being with family. I think he’s really motivated and enthusiastic, which will take him to all the places he desires to be one day.

Significant Event
One very significant moment so far has definitely been my high school graduation. All the preparing and planning made me anxious for the day. When the day finally arrived I was full of emotions. After it was over I felt like I had accomplished one of the goals on my list. Graduation day may have been a quick and short, but for sure meant a lot to me.
I was absolutely over whelmed getting ready for graduation day. I had to find an outfit, make sure I studied enough for my finals, and get all my books turned in. To take care of the easiest task, I was on the hunt for the perfect dress. Finally after continuously going in and out of shops, I found the perfect dress that screamed my name. It was a short cream colored lace dress that I knew would go amazing with my coral colored wedges I had already picked out. Next, I had to make sure I was prepared enough for the very last finals I would take in high school. For the last few weeks of school I locked myself in my room and studied my life away. I didn’t want to struggle on any questions. Luckily my all my craziness of scattered science papers, open highlighters, and stacked books paid off, I passed all my finals with B’s or better. Once I had all my grades taken care of, all I could think about was that moment my diploma would be placed in my hand.
At last, the big day had arrived; I was full of emotions and wanted nothing to ruin my mood or day. As I got ready, I was getting a sense of independence I didn’t have before. I was realizing all the work I had I had done in four adventurous and growing years was finally coming to an end. Suddenly, after I put my gold cap and gown on in front of my mirror in my room, was when it really hit me that before I knew it I wouldn’t be going to the same place every day, and wouldn’t be seeing the same things I grew so used to. Before I knew it, I was in line to walk across the stage and receive my diploma. I was thinking of all the fights my mom and I had had over the years about staying on top of my grades and realizing that she only meant well and knew it would all come down to this moment. I wanted to freeze that moment and remember everything about it; I wanted to remember all the horns going off and seeing all the signs parents had made for their child. As I stood in line to walk through the line I kept getting more and more nervous. I didn’t know if it was actually to walk across the line or that I knew I would never be in a high school student again.
Eventually, graduation was over and all I could think about was staring college and if I would like it as much as I thought I would. I knew I would have a bit more freedom I didn’t have before. However it made me sad knowing I wouldn’t be seeing some people I grew so comfortable with. I couldn’t help but feel like most of my friends would slowly drift away. A lot was about to change and I was ready and excited.
To end with, graduation definitely was a moment that gave me more independence. I was pleased for a chapter to end, but still worried for what was next. Graduation day was very memorable for me, and made me realize I was growing up.
